Gates Scholarship
Criteria: Minority high school seniors who demonstrate financial need, have at least a 3.3 weighted GPA, and plan to enroll in a 4-year college or university may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: Full Cost of Attendance

Questbridge Scholarship
Criteria: Seniors who demonstrate academic excellence and who's family income is less than $65,000/year may apply for this scholarship.

Lowell L. Bryan Scholarship (Davidson College)
Criteria: MAHS may nominate up to three of our top student-athletes who have the potential to be impact players at Davidson College in one of the 18 eligible sports.
Amount: $30,000/year

Montem Health and Wellness Scholarship
Criteria: High school students who have a passion for living a healthy lifestyle may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,500

AES Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who plan to attend college may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $500

United States Senate Youth Scholarship
Criteria: Juniors and seniors in a qualified leadership position in an organization relating to government, public affairs, history, and/or community service may apply for this scholarship.  
Amount: $10,000

Morehead-Cain Scholarship (UNC Chapel Hill)
Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate leadership, character, scholarship, and physical vigor, and who intend to apply to UNC Chapel Hill by the early action deadline may apply for this scholarship.  Two school nominees will be selected by the MAHS Scholarship Committee and be notified approximately one month prior to the application deadline.  Students may also self-nominate.
Amount: Full Cost of Attendance at UNC Chapel Hill

Bryan Scholarship (Davidson College)
Criteria: Senior scholar-athletes who are interested in participating in an eligible sport at Davidson College may be nominated for this scholarship.  The scholarship committee will select up to three nominees, who will be notified approximately one month prior to the application deadline. 
Amount: $35,000/year

Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who exhibit dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism may apply for this scholarship.  Students who apply for this scholarship must complete an essay in the presence of Mrs. Henson.  See Mrs. Henson for more details!
Amount: $250-$5,000

Horatio Alger Scholarships
Criteria: High school seniors who have an adjusted gross family income of $55,000 or less may apply for these scholarships.  Applicants must also have at least a 2.0 GPA, be a US citizen, and exhibit a commitment to pursue a bachelor's degree.
Amount: $10,000

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who are college-bound and have demonstrated leadership and service may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $20,000

Voice of Democracy Scholarship
Criteria: High school students in grades 9-12 may apply for this scholarship by submitting a recorded essay themed around democracy and patriotism.
Amount: Up to $30,000

Tobacco-Free Life Scholarship
Criteria: High school students in grades 9-12 who demonstrate a passion for increasing awareness of the negative effects of smoking may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $2,000

Park Scholarship (NC State University)
Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate scholarship, leadership, service, and character and who intend to apply to NC State by the early action deadline may apply to this scholarship.  Two school nominees will be selected by the MAHS Scholarship Committee and be notified approximately one month prior to the application deadline.  Students may also self-endorse.

Elks National Foundation "Most Valuable Student" Scholarship
Criteria:  High school seniors who are U.S. citizens and who have demonstrated scholarship, leadership, and financial need may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,000-$12,500/year

Prudential Spirit of Community Award
Criteria: Middle or high school students who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service within the past year may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,000-$5,000

The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship (UNC Chapel Hill)
Criteria: High school seniors who plan to apply to UNC Chapel Hill by the Early Action deadline and have shown extraordinary artistic merit in writing may apply to this scholarship.
Amount: Full Cost of Attendance at UNC Chapel Hill

John M. Belk Scholarship (Davidson College)
Criteria: MAHS may nominate up to two students who demonstrate academic excellence, enthusiasm, integrity, and leadership ability and potential.

Goodnight Scholarship (NC State)
Criteria: North Carolina high school seniors who complete the NC State application for admission by the early action deadline of November 1st, who indicate a family income of less than $110,000, and who select a STEM or STEM Education major will be invited to apply or may self-nominate for this scholarship.
Amount: Up to $20,500/year
Deadline: January 15, 2020
 
 
NC Hispanic College Fund
Criteria: High school seniors with a hispanic/latinx background and a 2.5 unweighted GPA may apply for this scholarship.  Preference is given to students who are foreign-born or who have foreign-born parents, and demonstrate financial need, community involvement, academic achievement, and leadership.
Amount: $500-$2,500

NCSDAR Cordon Street Scholarship
Criteria: College-bound high school seniors may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $2,000

  • You should NOT have to pay to submit a scholarship application!
  • Check this page often.  It is updated regularly!
  • The FAFSA is most often a student's main source of financial aid, and required for many scholarships.  Complete it in October!
  • Do not wait until the last minute to submit scholarship applications.  Many portals close well before midnight on the day they're due.
  • Have someone you trust look over your scholarship applications (i.e. Mrs. Henson, Ms. England, a teacher, a parent, etc.)
