Class of 2026 - Senior Information

Please see below for some important information.

-Submit senior ads for the yearbook before Christmas for the lowest price! See the flyer below or MAHS Announcements for details.

-Students have a link in their email to sign up for senior meetings, where we will discuss plans after graduation and help lay out next steps. Parents are not required to attend senior meetings, but certainly welcome!

-The 2026-2027 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is officially open! We encourage all students to complete the FAFSA to help determine eligibility for federal or state aid to assist students with attending college or pursuing a certification after high school.

-Students who will be taking CCP course(s) through SCC next semester must meet with Mrs. Shumate to register. She is at MAHS on Mondays, and SCC on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Below are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Students must complete a new CCP application every semester.
  • MACS will no longer pay for textbooks or course materials beginning next semester. The MAHS Counseling Office has a list of classes that utilize free course materials.
  • SCC will be offering several courses on our campus next semester - see MAHS Announcements for the course schedule for the new MAHS Student Success Center!
  • Students can email Mrs. Shumate at [email protected] with any questions.

-Ready to explore scholarships? Check the Counseling Scholarship Page for more info.

-Mr. Nail is available at MAHS on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday afternoons. If students or families have follow-up questions or need help with next steps after the initial senior meeting, schedule an appointment with him here. Follow him on Instagram @advising4bears.

TRANSCRIPTS

  • MAHS Transcripts: There are 3 ways students can have high school transcripts sent to colleges and universities:
  1. Common App - If you applied through Common App, add Mrs. Henson (Last Names A-K) or Mrs. Zurita (Last Names L-Z) as your counselor. They will upload your transcript as part of your School Report.
  2. College for North Carolina (CFNC) - Students can request to send their transcript to any North Carolina college or university through the CFNC Application Hub. Students should use this method if they are applying to a college or university in NC using a platform other than Common App.
  3. MAHS Website - For out-of-state colleges and universities not on the Common App, use THIS LINK to request your transcript.

  • Surry Community College Transcripts: If colleges are asking for your Surry Community College transcript, you have two options:
  1. Official Transcripts: Click Here to order online or visit the Information Desk in the 'A' Building at SCC.
  2. Unofficial Transcripts: Students can download an unofficial SCC transcript from their MyKnightLife account.
