Class of 2024 - Senior Information

Senior Update for the Week of September 25th. Upcoming Events:

• Senior Meetings are underway. Please use this link to sign up if you have not already: SENIOR MEETING CALENDLY LINK. 
• ECU Free App Week: East Carolina University is offering a valuable opportunity this week for you to apply FOR FREE through a variety of sources including Common App. To learn more, check out the Free App Week FAQs. Come see me, Mrs. Henson, or Ms. White if you have questions or need help submitting your application. 
• UNC System Virtual Open House: The UNC System is hosting a Virtual Open House for prospective students, families, and high school counselors to learn more about the 16 UNC System universities (Appalachian, ECU, Elizabeth City State, Fayetteville State, NC A&T, NC Central, NC State, UNC-Asheville/Chapel Hill/Charlotte/Greensboro, Pembroke/School of the Arts/Wilmington, and Western Carolina). During the week of October 2, 2023 a series of four virtual sessions will be hosted via Zoom Webinar. Admissions Counselors from each institution will share helpful information about the admissions process and current students from each university will share about their college experience and answer your questions live.You must register for these Zoom sessions HERE. 
• Cap & Gown Ordering Deadlines: Order your required MAHS Graduation Items (cap, gown, & tassel / $47 plus tax) by December 15th. If you need financial assistance, please email me ASAP. 
• Senior Photo Make-ups and Retakes will be on October 10th during the school day. You do not need to register in advance, but you must be on campus when seniors are called down for photos. Strawbridge expects to be finished shortly after lunch.  
• SAT: If you plan to test this fall, please get registered ASAP. We will be giving the SAT here at MAHS on November 4th.
• College Application Help: If you need help with college applications, RDS, or essays, Ms. White is here on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Her office is across from the auditorium and she would love to help. Email her at [email protected] to set up an appointment or just stop by. 
• Scholarships: Access scholarships here with deadlines, application packages, and links. Subscribe to the MAHS Counseling and Guidance page to receive alerts any time Mrs. Henson adds new scholarships to the list.
