Scholarships
- You should NOT have to pay to submit a scholarship application!
- Check this page often. It is updated regularly!
- The FAFSA is most often a student's main source of financial aid, and required for some scholarships.
- Do not wait until the last minute to submit scholarship applications. Many portals close before midnight on the day they're due.
- Have someone you trust look over your scholarship applications before you submit them.
- Many colleges have their own application or online portal for internal scholarships. Check the procedures at each college you apply to.
Scholarships
Morehead-Cain Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate leadership, character, scholarship, and physical vigor, and who intend to apply to UNC Chapel Hill by the Early Action deadline may apply for this scholarship. Two school nominees will be notified at the beginning of September, but students may also self-nominate.
Amount: Full cost of attendance at UNC Chapel Hill

Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism may apply for this scholarship. Students must complete a supervised, timed essay in order to apply for this scholarship. See Mrs. Henson if interested!

Heisman High School Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA who have participated in at least one high school sponsored sport may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,000-$10,000

Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and who intend to apply to NC State by the Early Action deadline may apply for this scholarship.

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate scholarship, leadership, and financial need may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,000-$7,500/year

Thomas Wolfe Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who have a passion for writing and who submit their UNC Chapel Hill admission application by the early action deadline may apply for this scholarship.

NC Elks Nursing Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who have taken Health Science courses and plan to enter the field of Nursing may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,000

North Carolina Criminal Justice Fellows Program
Criteria: High school seniors who plan to obtain an associate's degree in Criminal Justice at a NC community college, and work for at least 4 years in a qualifying position in NC can apply for this program.
Amount: A fully forgivable loan covering 100% of the degree
