- You should NOT have to pay to submit a scholarship application!
- Check this page often. It is updated regularly!
- The FAFSA is most often a student's main source of financial aid, and required for many scholarships. Complete it in October!
- Do not wait until the last minute to submit scholarship applications. Many portals close well before midnight on the day they're due.
- Have someone you trust look over your scholarship applications before you submit them.
- Many colleges have their own application or online portal for internal scholarships. Check the procedures at each college you apply to.

Criteria: High school juniors and seniors can earn scholarships by completing steps to prepare for college.

Surry County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who plan to pursue a career in agriculture or an agriculture-related field may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,000/year
Deadline: April 21, 2023

Alpha Theta Grant
Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate financial need, plan to pursue a career in education, and plan to enroll at a 2-year or 4-year college or university may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: April 30, 2023

The National Association of University Women (NAUW) Mount Airy/Surry County Branch Scholarship
Criteria: Female high school seniors who plan to enroll at a 4-year college or university in the Fall of 2023 may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $500
Deadline: May 1, 2023

Surry Arts Council Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who are residents of Surry County, plan to pursue a degree in the Arts, and willing to perform or demonstrate his/her chosen artistic discipline at an audition on May 24th may apply for this scholarship.

Deadline: May 5, 2023 (5pm)

The Leslie Richardson Memorial "Swan & Sparrow" Scholarship
Criteria: High school seniors who have at least a 3.0 GPA, and who plan to study musical performance, jazz studies, or choral conducting at an accredited HBCU may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $3,000
